Mazda’s next-generation midsize sedan concept to debut alongside new Mazda CX-5 with full array of SKYACTIV® Technology
Mazda Motor Corporation is scheduled to showcase their premiere of the Mazda TAKERI- the next-generation concept car at the next Tokyo Motor Show. At the same show, Mazda will debut the new CX-5 crossover SUV equipped with Mazda’s breakthrough SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY.
The 2011 Tokyo Motor Show will run from December 3 through 11, 2011, at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center and Mazda will be holding its press conference on November 30.
Mazda’s focus for the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show is to showcase the theme of “Environmental Technology, Pushing the Boundaries of the Emotion of Motion.” Mazda had announced its plan to enhance environmental and dynamic performance under the Sustainable Zoom-Zoom long-term vision for their technology and the results of this plan began to appear on the market earlier this year.
The Mazda Demio (known overseas as the Mazda2) was launched in Japan in June and the Mazda Axela (Mazda3) began its rollout to global markets in September. The Mazda TAKERI embodies Mazda’s new design language, ‘KODO – Soul of Motion,’ to bring a new level of strength and allure to sedan styling. The TAKERI features the full array of SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, including the efficient and powerful new SKYACTIV-D clean diesel engine, which gives top performance while maintaining a comfortable ride.
The Mazda CX-5 is the first of Mazda’s products that will feature the complete line of SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and thanks to KODO design, the CX-5 shows a strong sense of agility unparalelled in other SUVs. The Mazda CX-5 also offers a refined driving experience coupled with outstanding environmental and safety performance with the new SKYACTIV-D clean diesel engine.
The Mazda TAKERI is designed to express “an intuitive sedan identity” and “an overwhelming emotional beauty” as the latest platform for Mazda’s breakthrough SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY. The TAKERI provides a comfortable ride with the help of the power of SKYACTIV-D and new lightweight and aerodynamic technologies. It also features the i-stop idling stop system and Mazda’s first regenerative braking system.
