2014 Mazda6 Review | Mazda6 Named ‘Great Buy’ by Autoweek

The 2014 Mazda6 Named ‘Great Buy’ by Autoweek

The 2014 Mazda6 receives another great review from the highly accredited Autoweek blog.
Autoweek compliments Mazda’s impressive, fuel-saving SKYACTIV technology, including a new family of engines, transmissions and lighter bodies, and suspension components.

“The 2.5-liter Skyactiv engine performs admirably, with linear power delivery and is impressively smooth. Throttle response is lively to make rev-matching for downshifts entertaining for a midsize sedan,” reported Jonathan Wong, Autoweek contributor. “If cars such as the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Nissian Altima and Chevrolet Malibu bore you to tears with underwhelming looks and lackluster drive characters, then, yes, you want the 2014 Mazda 6. It’s been the most athletic driving vehicle in the segment, and the new model continues that tradition.”

2013 Mazda3 Review

2013 Mazda3 Comparison

With crisp handling, distinct style and a quick, very fuel-efficient engine, the 2013 Mazda 3 is a favorite among the compact car class.

Introduced in 2012, Mazda’s direct-injected 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine returns as the star of the Mazda 3’s power trio. Joined to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, this engine helps the Mazda 3 achieve 40 mpg on the highway without resorting to tricks like special aerodynamics or automatic transmission shift programming that settles into the highest gear before you’ve left the driveway.

2013 Mazda3 Performance

The increased efficiency compromised horsepower. The Skyactiv engine slots between the 3’s base 2.0-liter and top-end 2.5-liter engines, and its acceleration times are competitive for the class.

SKACTIV TECHNOLOGY

The Skyactiv engine complements the 3’s other strengths, including sharp handling, a stylish interior and the available hatchback body style.  The Chevrolet Cruze, Ford Focus and 2013 Hyundai Elantra are all excellent choices but for competitive fuel economy integrated with energetic driving character, the 2013 Mazda 3 is hard to beat.
